~ Interview With Eddie ~

Here is a small interview that the Webmaster did with Eddie on March 12th, 2004.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could have one person and one item who would it be and what would the item be?
I think i would have a cd of all of Martin Lawrence's funny stuff so i could keep laughing i think i would want to be stranded with Christina Milian no shame in that

Who was your biggest inspiration in gymnastics?
My brother...he was always an inspiration to me inside and outside of the gym in so many diff ways. he had everything working against him, but he was determined to be good enough to the poing that nobody could do anything about it, i always like Li Xioxuong and Nemov too

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
It was the egg. a special egg though. it fell from the sky and stuck the landing. then this little cooped up chick, we'll call him Chicken Little, felt it was time to make an appearance. then he met another special chicken etc etc...

If you could do an NCAA draft, who would you "draft" to u of MI?"
Besides Jesus? cause i hear he's good... i wouldn't mind having Dan Gill on the team. I met him for the first time at 2001 USA's on the bus after the meet. he was a cool guy. i've gotten to know him better in the past years after competing with him. plus he freestyles a lot like me and some of my team mates so that would be pretty fun i'de take a bunch of other guys to like Mike Ash, Vargus, Alvarez all good guys

What's the best part of competing for the University of Michigan?
The noise of the crowd after you hit a routine i love competing for the crowd a hit routine means that much more when they go crazy i hit for that

Is it pop or soda?
If your from new mexico its soda if your from michigan its pop if your from the south then everything is coke, i'm going with soda

What is the sweetest thing a girl has ever done for you to get your attention?
Simple stuff like when you can see her sneak peeks at you. she look out of the corner of her eye at you and tries not to make it noticable, but noticable enough to get your attention

What's the one thing you miss being away from home?
Just my family in general. my family has been getting bigger since my two sister had children and i wish i could see them. i love my nieces. but i will get a chance to see my parents at the meet tomorrow. their first michigan meet

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
Well, if a wouldchuck could chuck would then you would have to recipricate the number and divide by more. then cary the one. but all of this is after you take the cos of pie r squared

If you could date any gymnast who would it be? and why?
Thats a tough one. theres a lot of cute college gymnast out there, but i don't remember any of them. i'm gunna have to go with one of the Romanian gymnast. I just remember that most of them were really good looking when i watched them perform

If you could be any utensil what would it be?
A fork with a spoon at the other end

What do you plan to do when you finish gymnastics?
I'm studying pre med so i want to be a heart surgeon. both of my brothers are orthapedic surgeons right and one of my sisters is studying to be a paramedic so we think we might try and get a medical business down the line. my brothers and i have also played around with the idea of opening a gym down the line too, but its just an idea right now

What's your biggest fear?
Well, i have pretty strong christian beliefes so i fear the Lord and no one or nothing else with God i have nothing to fear

If you could change one thing about the sport of gymnastics what would it be and why?
I would make gymnastics a more profitable sport. its one of the hardest sports and gymnast are probably the most talented athletes there are. everything like mental and physical strength has to be 100% every time you step up to the equipment. if there was more support then programs wouldn't be droppin all of the time

What do you think about the new vault?
I like it a lot...its a lot safer

What are your strengths and weaknesses as a gymnast?
My biggest strength i think is my power and i never tell anyone my weaknesses

What is your most memorable gymnastics moment?
I think it would be competing at the 2001 USA Championships because i had a chance to compete on the same floor as my brother when he retired.
