February 19, 2005 - Two weeks ago Eddie took his first hit at the new code of points as he competed in the 2006 Winter Cup Challange. He scored a 114.000 all around, yet only competed in three events. He scored a 26.500 on floor, a 27.500 on vault, and a 26.900 on parallel bars. Congrats on a great meet!

July 1st, 2005 - Eddie competed at the 2005 USA Nationals Qualifer last weekend, although he placed 13th all around he did not qualify for the USA National Championships. He is heading back to the gym to work out and make sure he has his routines down for next year! Congrats on a great season Eddie!

June 8th, 2005 - Today is Eddies 22nd Birthday! Sign the guestbook and wish him a happy birthday!

May 30th, 2005 - There is an article on Eddie in the Albuquerque Journal. It talks about his aspirations to be like his brother and how he has followed his brothers through gymnastics. The full article is: Eddie Umphrey Matches Brothers Exploits.

April 17th, 2005 - Eddie competed last weekend at the 2005 NCAA Championships and accomplished his goal of becoming all american! As a team Michigan finished sixth and Eddie went on to compete in the event finals for floor. There he scored a 9.525 and placed 3rd. Congrats to Eddie on an AMAZING NCAA Career, he is continuing to train for Nationals this summer and will continue to compete!

April 1st, 2005 - Eddie competed last weekend in the 2005 Big Ten Championships hosted by the University of Michigan. As a team the University of Michigan finished third behind Ohio State and Illinois, but that didn't stop Eddie from event finals. He went on to compete in the floor exercise event final where he scored a 9.550 to place second to Michael Reavis. Eddie went onto the Rings even finals where he scored a 9.662 to place third and followed that with a 9.155 for fifth place on the parallel bars. Michigan's final meet of the season is next weeked, the NCAA Championships.

February 19th, 2005 - Sorry about not updating this sooner, but Eddie competed last weekend at the University of Minnesota with the Michigan Team. Although the team lost to Minnesota, Eddie had a great meet overall. He placed second on still rings with a score of 9.45, a 9.325 on vault for fourth, and fourth again on the floor with a 9.00. Congrats Eddie. Tonight Eddie and his Michigan Team will be competing at Penn State University. Results will be posted in the next few days!

February 8th, 2005 - Eddie competed this past weekend at the Winter Cup. Althought he did compete all around, he did not score high enough to make the national team, after placing 12th all around.

January 16th, 2005 - Michigan kicked off their season last weekend with the Windy City Invitational. Eddie had a good meet where he placed 2nd on vault. The Michigan team also placed third behind University of Illinois and Ohio State University. This past weekend Eddie competed in a duel meet against Iowa. He won both the still rings and vault events. Although he had a rough time on floor Michigan placed 1st overall. Congrats on a great start to the season eddie!

December 19th, 2004 - Last night University of MIchigan kicked off their season with their Maize and Blue Intersquad. Eddie helped lead his Blue team to a victory with an 8.80 on floor exercise, a 9.250 on still rings and an 8.80 on parallel bars. Their first officialy meet of the season will be January 8th when they take on the rest of the NCAA Teams at the Windy City Invitational!

June 4th, 2004 - Tonight, Eddie competed all around for the second time in over a year in competition (First time was two days ago). He placed 26th at the USA Natioanl Championships after an awesome competition. Although he suffered with some low scores tonight, he did awesome, placing 5th on the still rings & 14th on the vault, Congrats to Eddie on an AWESOME competition...

June 2nd, 2004 - Eddie competed in the 2004 National Championships Prelims tonight! He placed 20th with a score of 53.400. The finals for the USA National Championships are on Friday at 7:00 PM CST. The top 14 will advance to the Olympic Trials!

April 25th, 2004 - In the Nationals Qualifer Eddie competed only four events yet that was able to petition in based off of his 35.425 score to the USA Championships which will take place in June! Good Luck Eddie!

April 3rd, 2004 - In today's NCAA FINALS, Eddie and the Michigan team placed fifth behind Penn State, Oklahoma, University of Illinois, and Ohio State. Eddie scored a 9.325 on floor, 9.250 on still rings, 9.425 on vault, and a 8.950 on high bar. Congrats on a great NCAA Season Eddie!!!

April 2nd, 2004 - In today's NCAA Prelims, Eddie and the Michigan team placed second to Big Ten Rival Penn State, and ahead of defending National Champions, The Oklahoma Sooners! Eddie placed 7th on floor and vault, 6th on still rings, and 37th on parallel bars. The Wolverines advance into team finals tomorrow, where they will take on the top five ranked teams in the NCAA. March 21st, 2004 - Michigan placed fourth this weekend in the Big Ten Championships! Eddie placed 9th on floor, just barely missing a trip to event finals with a score of 9.200. He placed sixth on still rings to qualify into finals where he placed 8th with a score of 8.875. Eddie placed 13th on vault with a score of 9.250 and 27th on Parallel Bars with a 8.450. Congrats to an awesome meet Eddie and good luck at NCAA Championships in two weeks!

March 13th, 2004 - In a heated battle against Big Ten Rivalry Ohio State University, Michigan came out on top tonight by just four tenths of a point. Eddie helped lead the team to a victory. He started of with a 9.050 on floor exercise, then continued on to still rings where he placed 2nd with a score of 9.55! On vault Eddie placed third with a score of 9.275 as well as third on parallel bars with a score of 9.000. After his high score on still rings, eddie was given the chance to throw a shirt out to the crowd, he choose to hand it off to his parents, who were in attendence at their first Michigan Meet! Congrats to Eddie on an awesome meet and to the Wolverines on their victory. Good Luck next weekend at Big Ten Championships!

March 7th, 2004 - Last night the University of Michigan Wolverines took on the Iowa Hawkeyes and The Wisconsin Club Team. The Wolverines were beat by the Hawkeyes but were able to beat the Wisconsin team. Eddie scored an 8.900 on floor, a 9.300 on rings for first place, 9.325 on vault for third place, & a 9.000 for second on parallel bars.

March 5th, 2004 - Two weeks ago, the University of Michigan had a quad meet with Minnesota, Nebraska, and Oklahoma University. They finished second to Oklahoma. Eddie had a good meet and scored above a 9 on all events except for Parallel Bars. Michigan was off last weekend on Spring Break and will return to competition against Iowa tomorrow at the Hawkeyes Arena.
